1 Gather and prepare all ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350°F/180C/160C fan or Gas Mark 4.
2 Peel and cut the apples into medium-sized cubes and place them in a 9x13 oven-safe dish.
3 Pour the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt on top of the apples and toss to coat. Spread out evenly to fit the pan.
4 Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apples, covering them completely.**
5 Evenly pour the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
6 Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
7 Remove the apple dump cake from the oven and enjoy.
