Ingredients: 4 ounces vegan cream cheese*; 1½ tablespoons vegan butter (slightly softened); 2 cups powdered sugar (more for a stiffer frosting, sifted if lumpy); ⅛ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

This vegan cream cheese frosting is just as creamy, sweet, and tangy as the classic kind, but it's totally dairy-free! Slather it on my pumpkin bars, carrot cake, or vegan carrot cake, or any treat you like.

Ingredients

4 ounces vegan cream cheese*
1½ tablespoons vegan butter (slightly softened)
2 cups powdered sugar (more for a stiffer frosting, sifted if lumpy)
⅛ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer until smooth.
2 Add the vanilla and powdered sugar and mix until smooth. If you prefer a stiffer frosting, beat in additional powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
