Ingredients

½ teaspoon sugar or ¼ ounce simple syrup
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
1 large square ice cube
Twisted orange peel (for garnish)

Instructions

1 Combine the sugar and bitters in the bottom of a rocks glass. Use a muddler to muddle and dissolve the sugar. Add the whiskey and the ice and stir well. Let the whiskey chill and the ice dilute for 30 seconds.
2 Garnish with a twisted orange peel and serve.
