Ingredients

¼ cup granulated sugar
4 egg yolks (you can whisk the whites to fold into the eggnog just before serving, if you like)
1 tsp vanilla extract
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
6 tbsp brandy

Instructions

1 Put the sugar in a saucepan with 5 tbsp water. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved, then cool and refrigerate.
2 Beat the yolks with the vanilla until smooth. Beat in the condensed milk, brandy and cooled syrup.
3 Pour into a jug and refrigerate for at least 2 hrs. Serve within 24 hrs over ice. You can whisk the egg whites and fold them into the eggnog just before serving, if you like.
