1 Gather all of your ingredients.
2 In a mixing bowl, beat the butter with a hand mixer on high for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
3 Add all of the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and half of the milk. Begin mixing on low speed to prevent a mess, then gradually increase to medium until well combined. Add the remaining milk a little at a time until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.**
